NZLT Safe Use of Lasers in the Workplace Online Programme

This short laser safety programme is designed for those working with lasers in their workplace, and it references AS/NZS International and National Laser Safety Standards, Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 and HSWA Regulations 2016.

Laser operators need to be aware of the hazards and risks associated with operating lasers and how they can protect themselves from potential hazards that can damage the eyes and skin and pose a fire risk. 

Pre-requisites:  No pre-requisites

Recommended for:  Anyone using, working near or needing to know about the safe operation of laser devices (in particular Class 3b and Class 4) in New Zealand workplaces such as manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, science, agricultural, commercial design, or factory processing industries.

Cost: $199 + GST per person - includes an Electronic Certificate.

Study method:  Approximately 3 - 4 hours of self-guided online learning with access 24/7, over 4 weeks - complete in a day or over the 4-week period.  Start anytime, study anywhere with our online interactive platform.  If you cannot complete within the 4-week period, apply for a free 2-week extension.

Timeframes/charges for extensions: 

  • 1st  2-week extension if requested before or on the expiry date – No charge. 
  • 2nd Extension is for 7 days – the cost is $100 + GST to cover admin.
  • 3rd Extension is for 7 days –  the cost is $100 + GST to cover admin
